My First Year Anniversary

May 7th, 2008 by johnhero

It’s been a year since I took the CPA board examination. Flashes of memories are coming back to me. Painstaking and brain draining preparations almost devour my sanity. Thank God, I did not end up in a mental institution.

Among the subjects, I’m not really a fan of BLT. I hate to memorize the final tax rates, the income tax table and all kinds of taxes. But good for us, Tax was never been a boring subject. Thanks to Mr. Tamayo and to his green jokes. The toughest for me, is the Financial Accounting. I can still recall that I had nosebleed literally while taking the final pre board. Woooh…  really tough subject.

Well, at least it’s a worthy experience. It’s heaven when I took my oath. We will not appreciate the true value of triumph if we never experience any difficulties and trials along the way.

Good luck and God bless to all who will take the May CPA Board Exam.

I finally get my lazy pen up and going

January 18th, 2008 by johnhero

I finally get my lazy pen up and going. I should have started this blog long time ago but procrastination is always on my way. I don’t know if I’m just lazy or I’m just afraid to start new things. I guess I don’t have much confidence in my bones and I’m just too scared to fail.

I always wanted to write that I even dreamt of becoming a journalist. Having that dream, I always wish to be a part of the official publication of my school in HS. I tried and fearfully took the written examination given by the publication adviser. Luckily, I passed and eventually assigned as newswriter. My first assignment was to make news article about the celebration of the birthday of Mama Mary. I was so excited but I don’t have the guts to make one so I just copied some articles about Mary’s birthday and put them together to make a new one. (That’s a confession; hopefully it will not cost me for violation of copyrights hahaha…) After few weeks the article was returned to me not because they found out that it was copied but because of revisions. My article was murdered and the murderer was my news editor. The blood-like ink was all over my paper for corrections and revisions. I almost give up because I can’t stand to be scrutinized and corrected. I felt like a looser. Anyway, my first article was still published but the supposedly news article became a feature article. Two years after my first article was murdered I was already given the chance to become a murderer of articles. Yes, the boy who just “copied” his first article became part of the editorial team. Lucky me!

I have written so much, I just wanted to say I like to write and hopefully I can keep this blog alive for 2008 and beyond.

PS

This is not a copy and paste article, i finally learn to make one… wink hehehe =)
